Prince Frederik: Presents the IOC Trophy

Yesterday (Sorry, I forgot) Prince Frederik presented the IOC (International Olympic Committee) Trophy.

In the picture above you can probably see that they are diabled. Yeah, I think it was nice to present them with the trophy. Because:

  1. The IOC could have chosen anyone
  2. They are disabled

New Year’s Court: Will Marie Attend? Plus, Mary, Frederik, Christian, Isabella, Josephine, Vincent in Australia

Marie, I think has a 40% chance of attending. This year Mary didn’t attend because of her children’s birth (Yeah, I know born 7 days after). But, Marie is to give birth in late January and not early. So maybe now it’s a 60% chance?

As you can see Frederik, Mary, Isabella (Cute little Lei, look at her shoes! Adorable!) and Vincent have came along for the ride. But, Josephine and Christian? They are there. You just can’t see them. I am guessing Christian was behind Mary and Josephine was probably in the guys arm behind Frederik.

Princess Mary’s so far… Fashionable Tour

Day 1
So let’s talk about Mary being alone for a bit… Crown Princess Mary along with Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine have arrived in Sydney, Australia.  The crown princely couple will begin their official visit on November 20, 2011 where they will visit the Sculpture by the Sea exhibit held in Bondi.  Over the next six days they will visit Canberra, Melbourne, western Victoria and Broken Hill in New South Wales where they, along with their business delegation, will focus on  “…green energy, sustainable living and food technologies.”  The crown princely couple are also expected to visit Crown Princess Mary’s hometown of Hobart, Tasmania for a private visit.

Day 2
Well, Mary and Frederik continued their official visit to Sydney, Australia.  After visiting the famous Sculpture by the Sea exhibition and a stop by the Curating Cities: Sydney-Copenhagen exhibition project held at the Customs Houses, it was time for a good old fashion Aussie BBQ.

The royal couple, along with their business delegation as well as Australian business representatives, attended a BBQ held at the Royal Australian Navy’s Garden Island base where they dined on “…Tasmanian scallops, lamb and mint sausages, king prawns, Sydney rock oysters, barramundi, marinated Atlantic salmon, King Island beef eye fillet and pavlova with King Island cream.”  Later in the afternoon, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary participated in a meeting with the Australian Governor-General at Admiralty House.

 Day 3

Nice clothing and aw a kiss. So, on day two of their official visit to Sydney, Australia, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary began their day at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney where they attended the opening of the Danish export and cultural promotion event entitled, State of Green: Join the Future -Think Denmark.  During the event, Crown Prince Frederik gave a speech in which he stated:

"Australia is a very special country to the crown princess and I.  Although our two countries could not be geographically further apart, we are facing similar challenges.  Both our countries are looking to reduce our dependency on oil and gas and coal, at the same time we are not willing to compromise our economic prosperity in order to do so.  My country has shown that it is possible to maintain economic growth and job creation (and) at the same time move towards a more climate-friendly and green economy."

Day 4
Mary again wore Ralph Lauren from her US tour last year.

Anyways from the shoe Drama of last year, Crown Prince Frederik attended the opening of The Australian: Denmark Green Growth Forum Seminar, in Parliament, where Danish and Australian business leaders will discuss investment opportunities in renewable energy and new initiatives to reduce greenhouse gases.  Later, he will joined Crown Princess Mary where they visited the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia and then made their way to the National Portrait Gallery to view  Jiawei Shen’s portrait of Crown Princess Mary.  From there they visited the National Arboretum Canberra where the crown princely couple planted a tree.  And, their final stop was the Australian War Memorial where they placed a wreath in honor of those who have and continue to serve in the Australian armed forces.
Day 5
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark participated in the Danish Agriculture and Food Council export promotion event held at the Hotel Sofitel in Melbourne.  The lovely crown princess, along with chef Rasmus Kofoed, showed off their cooking skills in a presentation about Danish food.  After a lunch at the Hotel Sofitel with members of their business delegation along with representatives from the Australian companies participating in the State of Green: Join the Future. Think Denmark conference, it was time for the tour Denmark House. Founded in 2009, Denmark House was created by the Danish Club to promote all things Danish — hence design, art, film, literature, music and gastronomy – in Melbourne.  Keeping their ties to their homeland is key for those who are members of this great club.  Later in the afternoon, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of the Corporate Cultures showroom where Danish design in furniture and lighting are on display and for sale for the Australian market.  The day ended with the couple attending a lovely dinner with members of their business delegation as well as Australian business representatives at the Peninsula Docklands.
